My Approach to Coaching

My focus as an executive coach is to utilise my extensive corporate and business experience in combination with coaching skills to help executives and leaders achieve their personal and professional goals. I believe that the individual possesses the necessary skills, vision and insight to achieve whatever goal they set. As a coach, it is my job to be on the journey with the individual to achieve those goals through motivation, teamwork and allowing the person to be accountable. Imagine you being in the driver’s seat of a car and me in the passenger seat. You know where you want to go and together we can understand how to get there.

In my practice as a lawyer, I have worked with clients at all stages and sizes of transactions in various roles. I have also spent time in several different countries, where I have observed and adapted to different work and living cultures. This broad range of experience allows me to help my clients achieve insight while empowering them to focus and achieve their goals. I aim to listen, observe and customise my approach to individual client needs and seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client. I believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful, and my task is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.

Context, Content, Conduct

I view Executive Coaching as a form of strategic learning, and my approach closely follows Columbia University’s Coaching Certification Program fundamentals.

I invite clients to focus on their context to identify key success factors and recognise the content so they can make informed, strategic actions to define their conduct. The process continually evolves during the coaching relationship as issues are resolved, and the desired progress is achieved.
